FAQ

We’ve discovered multiple questions that most parents will ask. We know it takes time out of your busy day to call the district or school office, so we’ve answered some of the most common questions below. However, if you still cannot find the answer to your question, we suggest that you check out the student handbook (found on the Home page of each school's website). Remember, we would be happy to hear from you, so contact us if you cannot find exactly what you are looking for!

Our students are residents of rural Lafayette County, which covers an area from Harmontown in the north to Paris in the south and from Tula in the east to Burgess in the west. See our District Boundaries Map for more detailed information.

Each school in the district has an age-appropriate policy regarding cell phones. Please refer to the school's student handbook for specific guidelines.

Due to the limited amount of parking available for student parking, we restrict the number of students allowed to bring vehicles to campus. We will sell all student-parking permits in the high school office. We will use the following procedure when offering student parking:

  • Sign, along with the parent/guardian, a consent form for a random suspicious drug testing as well as random car searches.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of liability insurance
  • Agree to comply by the terms of the parking permit, which is signed by the student and parent/guardian.
  • Understand that no off-road vehicle is allowed on campus.
  • Agree to a car search by school officials if necessary for enforcement of a school rule.
  • Park in assigned area only.

For more information about purchasing a permit, please consult the Student Handbook on the Lafayette High School Home page.

We issue grades at the end of each nine weeks through the Active Parent platform. Parents can see daily grades throughout the year in Active Parent.

We provide an easy, online payment system for our school lunches. Please visit the School Lunch Payment website.
